I don't complain about not getting replies, but now you've got me thinking about whether I've ever ghosted someone who I actually met in person. There definitely have been cases of mutual ghosting where we had a date or two, neither one of us followed up and I think both were happy with that state of affairs lol. Well, I can't remember ever ghosting, but I seem to be forgetting a lot of stuff these days so I guess I can't state it with confidence.

I've ghosted people when I was younger and dumber. I've been ghosted. I think it's something you don't realize how much it hurts until it happens to you. Certainly the easiest way to get rid of someone, but definitely not the kindest. A little honesty goes a long way, even if you don't intend to see the person again.

My question about ghosting after you've met etc. someone is . . . how does one go about things besides ghosting? One could argue that there are no "good" ways of ending things and that while ghosting isn't "nice" perhaps the message could be worse - for both parties. Also, since this has happened to me twice via this site, what if the ghoster wants to come back? Then the message, if it had been delivered, potentially makes it so that coming back is more problematic. In my case I had no problem with one of the ghosters reason. When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro. The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.

I don't think it's called GHOSTING anymore since flash chat is gone, it's more like STALKING!!! I hope your enjoying your Holiday weekend..

I dont 'ghost ' anyone I have made contact with, especially if in person. But have been 'ghosted' many times by gals who suddenly lose interest, and dont have the courtesey to tell me. But, I understand why this is done also, because there are idiots out there, who upon being told they are not desirable by someone else, that then do stupid things, like stalking or worse! So I forgive the 'ghoster gals" for being cautious, they dont know me well enuf to trust I am not a stalker afterall, or maybe they WOULD be more interested if they lnew me better and had given me more of a chance, it is their loss and maybe mine, but I will keep looking!.

no way girl. If someone wants to have sex with me, I'm not going to ignore them. Hello. Let's have sex again! today! ok, next week but soon. and then I message them all week, are we going to have sex? are we still going to have sex? are you sure you really want to have sex? really sure? and then they stop answering. so sad. I don't understand it myself.

They say women are the better communicators but I've been on the receiving end of several ghostings ranging from meeting for coffee and I'd reply and then get nothing, to relationships of several years and getting the cold shoulder treatment. I must leave a very good impression.

On the flip side, what is a reasonable number of follow up emails to send someone without reply? I mean to show that you are still interested, but not some obsessed creeper dude? Once you realise that you've been ghosted, is it poor form to send a final email to thank them for the time that was had and wish them well? DL

Can't think I've ever deliberately ghosted someone I've spent time with, but I expect there may have been times where Iv'e struggled to make time for someone, and yes, I've looked back with shame on those occasions. I've never complained about no reply, people have reasons, they'll let me know, or I'll find out in due course, or maybe I won't....... And, well, snogs aplenty to ye McBrattles!

I've had women block me and I've no idea why but nope, no man has ever ghosted me, but then I've only made friends here with one exception, so it's not really an issue for me. You cannot conceive the many without the one.
